50/50 Winners from 2012/13

Updated Sunday September 7, 2014 by Kitchener Sports Association.

The KSA 50/50 draw proceeds are used to assist local athletes and minor sports. Special thanks go to all the volunteer sellers for their efforts and to the Kitchener Ranger organization for letting us be part of the best show around.

We thank all those who support our work through ticket purchases and congratulate those fortunate enough to win one of the draws..

Thanks for a great season!

Thanks Rangers for another exciting season ... and thanks fans for supporting our 50/50 draw ...another year of record sales and financial support for local minor sports groups and athletes. Enjoy the summer break!...Go Rangers Go!

A 50/50 draw is held at Kitchener Rangers home games throughout the season and playoffs.  Proceeds from the draws are used to help fund local minor sports organizations and athletes.

See where the money has gone over the years.

Ticket prices for 2012/13 were:  $5 each, 3 for $10, or 7 for $20.  As in the past, each ticket was perforated to yield 3 separate draw entries, each with its own individual chance to win.  Tickets were sold before each Ranger home game until just before the end of the second intermission (unless sold out prior to then). The winning number was drawn during the early part of the third period, and announced from the public address system at the Kitchener Auditorium, as well as posted on the main video score board.   Under section 5.2.1 (f) of the Ontario Lottery Licensing Manual, the purchaser had to be present at the draw in order to collect his or her prize.

CLAIMING 50/50 DRAW PRIZES

Winning ticket holders had to claim their prize during the game at the location announced within the announced time-frame.

Winners were required to have the actual stub, and submit it, to claim the prize.  In case of clerical error, the official number, as announced at the Rangers game, was the only one(s) for which prize(s) are awarded.

In compliance with regulations, and in an effort to ensure that each prize is claimed, new claiming procedures were in place for this season.  The official claiming procedure was announced at each game and involved a defined time-frame (10 minutes on the game clock), commencing when the winning number was announced, during which the prize had to be claimed.  If no one presented the winning ticket within the allocated time then a new "winning" number was drawn (thereby voiding the previous number) with a new claiming time-frame. (This happened several times this season.)

This notice is only a guideline as details announced at a specific game govern that draw.
