Volunteer Recognition Awards for 2002

This, the 14th annual KSA Volunteer Recognition event, was MC'd by Don Cameron on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium complex.

 

The night's program featured guest speaker Jayna Hefford.

Hefford has won the gold in six World Championships – 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2007. In 1999 and 2000, Hefford was Team Canada’s leading scorer. Her hockey career includes 3 Olympic gold medals: in 2002, 2006 and 2010 and a silver in 1998. Jayna's Hockey Canada 2014 profile.

  • 1996-97 OWIAA Rookie of the Year
  • Top scorer in the OWIAA (1996–97)
  • 1998 Kingston and Ontario Amateur Athlete of the Year
  • 1999 and 2000 World Championship tournament's top goal scorer 
  • Inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame in 2002
  • Olympic Gold Medalist in 2002 at Salt Lake City
