PHOTO: The 50/50 crew, an enlarged staff for the hosting of the 2008 Memorial Cup, gathered for this photo. The top prize, $16,835 (achieved at the Championship game), set a mark which was finally surpassed --- $24,440 --- in the 2017/18 season when a special "Fan Appreciation" draw was held using the new electronic system. (The 50/50 draw is the source of the bulk of KSA's revenue.) Thanks crew - and thanks to all those who support our 50/50 draw.
KSA is in the business of raising money (50/50 sales at Kitchener Rangers home games, KW Titans home games (as of their 2016/17 season), bingo at the KW Gaming Centre, and other opportunities as they arise. It is from the support of the community that we are able to provide financial support to local minor athletes, minor sports groups and charities.
The annual pool of funds available varies and is largely dependent on the fortunes of the OHL Kitchener Rangers. The additional playoff games at the end of the season generate signifigant 50/50 revenue so "Go Rangers Go!" The additional sales opportunities offered by the KW Titans at their home games are much appreciated by local minor sports groups.
Below is a listing, with links to a breakdown for each year, of past donations. Note that the annual high ($265,725) was during 2007/08 - the season that Kitchener hosted the Memorial Cup. Top game prize that year was $16,835!
With almost a thousand (968) seats added for the 2012/13 season, we're all hoping the team goes far into the playoff rounds - and fills those extra seats game after game, year after year!
Proceeds are used to help fund local minor sports groups and athletes.
Note: In the past 22 years, ending June 30, 2016, KSA has provided $2,539,917 in funding to local athletes, minor sports groups & charities. (Over $1,491,000 in the past 9 years alone!) Thank you for your ongoing support!
