50/50 Winners from 2014/15
Updated Tuesday September 29, 2015 by Kitchener Sports Association.PHOTO: Charities and not-for-profits benefit from the KSA financial support - and from the Annual Rangers BBQ event (Sept. 6, 2015). In the photo are Bill Williamson (goalie for the Wanna Bees in the 2015 Hockey Helps the Homeless event), Ranger Director Marcus Drury (manning the table for the Sun Life Financial Kids in Gear program) and Donna Lloyd (Hockey Helps the Homeless organizer and former Rangers Director).
In Oct. 2014, KSA provided Hockey Helps the Homeless Legacy Grants: $6,180 to the House of Friendship for sports equipment for the "Kids Outdoors Program" and $4,500 to Lutherwood to help establish the Bike Program at the Safe Haven Shelter. KSA also has an ongoing $2,500 annual financial commitment to support Donna Weber's Sponsored Kids Program - KMHA's financial assistance program to ensure everyone gets to play hockey.
KSA wouldn't be able to provide financial support to the local minor sports groups without the funds raised from the sale of 50/50 tickets. Special thanks go to all the volunteer sellers for their efforts and to the Kitchener Ranger organization for letting us be part of the best show around. The needs of the local sporting community continue to escalate so we appreciate the ongoing support from the hockey fans at the games.
Thanks for supporting our draw and congratulations to those who were fortunate enough to share the proceeds in 2014/15!
See where the money has gone over the years.
Specifics on our 50/50 draws held in 2014/15:
Ticket prices were $5 each, 3 for $10, or 7 for $20. As in previous years, each ticket was perforated to yield 3 separate draw entries each with its own individual chance to win. Tickets were sold before each Ranger home game until just before the end of the second intermission (unless sold out prior to then). The winning number was drawn during the early part of the third period, and announced from the public address system at the Kitchener Auditorium, as well as posted on the main video score board. Under section 5.2.1 (f) of the Ontario Lottery Licensing Manual, the purchaser had to be present at the draw in order to collect his or her prize.

CLAIMING 50/50 DRAW PRIZES
If you have a winning ticket you have to claim your prize during the game at the location announced within the announced time-frame. To minimize delay, please ask for assistance if uncertain where to claim your prize or how best to get there.
You must have the actual stub, and submit it, to claim the prize. In case of clerical error, the official number(s) as announced at the Rangers game are the only one(s) for which prize(s) will be awarded.
In compliance with regulations and in an effort to ensure that each prize was claimed, new claiming procedures were in place for this season. The official claiming procedure was publized at each game and involved a defined time-frame (10 minutes on the game clock), commencing when the winning number was announced, during which the prize had to be claimed. If no one presented the winning ticket within the allocated time then a new "winning" number was drawn (thereby voiding the previous number) with a new claiming time-frame. )There were several occasions during the 2014/15 season when a "second" ticket number had to be drawn.)
This notice is only a guideline as details announced at a specific game govern that draw.
