Waterloo County Hall of Fame

      In 1965, Reuben Halpern proposed that the KSA establish a Sports Hall of Fame.  A year later community support was evident and the hall of fame was formulated under two categories - one for sports and another for pioneers and builders.

  The hall was officially opened on June 14, 1972 as part of the Big Brothers Sports Celebrity Dinner and now recognizes over 400 individuals and groups.

      The annual Induction Ceremony, funded by the KSA, is usually held in early May (usually  Mothers' Day) and is hosted by the Hall's Board of Governors at the Hall of Fame located at Doon Heritage Crossroads; 10 Huron Road, Kitchener,  Ontario.
