They updated dinner attendees on their recent accomplishments and their aspirations to compete for Canada at Vancouver in the 2010 Olympics. KSA's Tim Hobson is shown thanking the ice dancers and extending best wishes on behalf of the KSA .
Speaker: Paul Pavan
Volleyball "dad", coach & promoter
Paul Pavan, local teacher & high school volleyball coach, founder & coach of the Predators Volleyball Club and father of Sarah & Becky , probably this region's most famous volleyball players, updated dinner attendees on his daughters' status. (Sarah's turned pro and is currently playing in Italy and doing very well while Becky's on a scholarship in Kentucky.) Paul's high on athletes taking advantage of US scholarship offerings - and wonders if Canada will ever "catch up". Many wondered if we should or actually want to! Note: KSA has a scholarship program for local athletes to help with the funding of their post-graduate education. Canadian Universities & Colleges have different priorities and restrictions regarding athletic funding & academics than those in the US market.
