There was more than ever going on in 2008.  This was the spring that the Kitchener Rangers hosted the Memorial Cup - and made it all the way to the Championship game before losing to the Spokane Chiefs.  The extra playoff and Cup games generated a lot of extra 50/50 revenue and it was a record year for KSA donations - over $265,000!. (Refer to the donation list.)  It was also the year that almost every Memorial Cup game seemed to set a new prize record with the prize at the Championship game = $16,835!  (See list of prize winners.)  Thank-you one and all for supporting us, and the local sporting community,  through the purchase of the 50/50 tickets.

      2008 was the year John Thompson ended his four year reign as President of the KSA.  (KSA's fiscal year ends June 30, new officers are elected at the October membership meeting.)  No great changes are planned for the KSA in the foreseeable future.
