MARK SOMMERFELD - Golf (Waterloo)  

     

      Mark plays for the University of Detroit Mercy, (UDM), where he has been the most dominant golfer in the Horizon League over the past three years. He led the league in stroke average all three years and is the two-time NCAA Horizon League Player of the Year. Mark finished 3rd in 2007 at the Horizon League Championship and has been instrumental in UDM winning the Championship in 2005 and 2007. He earned All-Tournament Honours for the third consecutive year and was ranked 5th among men’s amateurs in Canada. He now plays on the Canadian National Amateur Team.


PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS:

· Won the North & South US Amateur Championship
· Won the U.S. Amateur Open Qualifier
· Lowest stroke average in the league & lowest in UDM history
