Note: Nomination forms for the 2010 program are not being solicited yet as the presentations won't be held until the KSA Dinner in November 2010. The awards made at that time will recognize volunteer efforts made through to that time. No program details are finalized yet but nomination forms and paperwork should be completed in late September or October 2010....please! Updated forms or 2010 will be available through links on this website.

Volunteer Recognition Nomination Form for 2009

The 2009 awards banquet was held Tuesday Nov 17 at the Edelweiss Sports Bar & Grill. Dinner cost, including a glass of wine, was set at $25 (no charge for award receipients). Guest speaker was Ken Brooks - one of the area's most active community volunteers and noted for his fundraising efforts on behalf of many organizations.

MINOR SPORT VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

TO RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF ALL VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS TO MINOR SPORTS ORGANIZATIONS.
TO RECOGNIZE ONE VOLUNTEER FROM EACH MINOR SPORTS ASSOCIATION SERVING KITCHENER RESIDENTS WHO HAS PROVIDED DISTINGUISHED SERVICE, BASED ON THE NUMBER OF YEARS OF INVOLVEMENT AND VALUE TO THE ORGANIZATION, AND WHO HAS NOT RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC RECOGNITION FOR THIS SERVICE PREVIOUSLY .
TO RECOGNIZE SPONSORS AND/OR COMMUNITY "PARTNERS" AS NOMINATED FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE MINOR SPORTS ORGANIZATIONS. ( A LIMITED NUMBER OF SUCH AWARDS MAY BE AVAILABLE EACH YEAR AT THE DISCRETION OF THE AWARDS COMMITTEE.)

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

A NOMINATED VOLUNTEER WILL::

HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY BY VOLUNTEERING WITH A MINOR SPORT ASSOCIATION THAT SERVES KITCHENER RESIDENTS AND WILL HAVE MAINTAINED LONG-TERM SERVICE.
ILLUSTRATE FULFILLING RESPONSIBILITIES, ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ATHLETES, AND ASSISTING IN THE PROGRESS OF THE ORGANIZATION.
INSPIRE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION
NOT HAVE RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC RECOGNITION FOR THIS SERVICE PREVIOUSLY. (Refer to List of PREVIOUS WINNERS)
RESIDE IN ANY MUNICIPALITY
BE AN ADULT OR PEER (YOUTH) VOLUNTEER

A NOMINATED SPONSOR WILL BE CONSIDERED BY THE COMMITTEE BASED ON LENGTH AND DEGREE OF INVOLVEMENT WITH THE NOMINATING GROUP(S) AND OTHERS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.

The 2010 Volunteer Recognition Dinner details are still to be confirmed.
